Today, after having written and posted five unique blogposts regarding intimate partner relationships, I wanted to clear my mind of Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) content by listening to electronic dance music (EDM). Yet, here I am for my sixth post of the day.
When listening to an EDM DJ set by the energetic and subjectively enjoyable Kristen Kroft, also known as Kris May, I heard her opening track from Adrian Hour, entitled “Love Something,” and thought to myself, “Oh, love? Time to write another blogpost!”
As Kroft currently spins in the background while I write, I think not of romantic love though my affinity for writing. Despite having been told more times than I can remember that I’m not a gifted writer, I love drafting and distributing content within my blog.
When sharing the product of my love with the world, I mainly receive bots from across the globe that conduct whatever business it is that scraping internet content does for whoever employs those annoying data miners. (I can see the general location associated with these global pests.)
Still, from time to time, I receive a reply to my blog content via the contact portal of my website. People sometimes ask about matters of clarification, express gratitude for a particular post, and send words of encouragement to me. Of course, I don’t write in order to receive feedback.
Rather, I love something, and that something is writing. Much as I once adored DJing, I like getting lost in my thoughts and following wherever meandered paths lead. Admittedly, I was about as proficient with DJing as I am with writing. (Nowhere on Kroft’s level of proficiency.)
Nevertheless, I enjoy journeying through REBT topics, providing psychoeducational lessons, and practicing the psychotherapeutic modality that has genuinely helped with changing my life in a way I never before believed was possible. It’s a wonderful experience for me!
Granted, this isn’t my most meaningful blogpost, nor is it likely helpful to anyone other than me. Nonetheless, given that the majority of post views come from Australia, the United Kingdom, and Canada – nations of the Five Eyes – I don’t mind posting this throwaway content.
Aside from friends, family members, or others, do you have something that you love – something that correlates with joy, pleasure, excitement, and worth? If not, I highly encourage you to love something. If not DJing or writing, I invite you to find something worthwhile to love.
If you’re looking for a provider who tries to work to help you understand how thinking impacts physical, mental, emotional, and behavioral elements of your life, I invite you to reach out today by using the contact widget on my website.
As the world’s foremost EDM-influenced REBT psychotherapist—promoting content related to EDM, I’m pleased to try to help people with an assortment of issues from anger (hostility, rage, and aggression) to relational issues, adjustment matters, trauma experience, justice involvement, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, anxiety and depression, and other mood or personality-related matters.
At Hollings Therapy, LLC, serving all of Texas, I aim to treat clients with dignity and respect while offering a multi-lensed approach to the practice of psychotherapy and life coaching.
